December is the official mark of BRICK Los Angeles completing our 10th year gratefully serving our local community. To say it’s been a wild ride is an understatement! BRICK LA started as a grand hope, adventurous dream and exciting thought. Poetically enough we began a decade ago, working out in the very same parking lot(during construction) that we are mandated to today. Back then it was a sign of great things on the horizon and we believe this signifies the same and ...holds true! Our attitude hasn’t changed, our ultimate goals are the same, just the landscape and strategy has slightly shifted. Providing a safe, fun, healthy, all inclusive, results driven fitness facility with the most caring, professional staff is, has and always will be our priority! The memories are endless, the collage of photos is infinite, the workouts abundant, the laughs clamorous, relationships numerous, marriages in dozens, babies a plenty, and excitement for what the future holds has never been more abundant! Thank you to ALL the staff from past, present and future who have and will continue to make BRICK a 1 of a kind place to assist in you living a more healthy and well life! Dear BRICK Family, As you know, BRICK has and always will stand on the side of what is right, regardless of implications and or motivations. This is why years back the BRICK team came together and collectively created its core values which clearly define the DNA structure that we are built upon. Pillars of kindness, care, love and inclusivity. This has always and will always remain even if/when against popular opinion. Some parade flags to gain fans, we parade ours to create... family. A family that can trust in its security of looking out for each other, taking care of each other and nurturing each other in times of distress, embattlement and needs. We currently sit in greater times than any when our family of color is in need. ALL of us are needed. Not only by our physical presence but that by which our mental and verbal presence can assist in propelling further the good fight of equality. Words are a great starting point but only action will carry us to victory. Today, sadly after almost a decade of affiliation, BRICK is denouncing its connection to CrossFit in all possible ways. We can no longer sit quietly as others continue to idolize and or fear those in power. You are only as strong as your weakest link and unfortunately their weakest link is the founder and CEO. A person that has ingrained a code of behavior so deep in their fabric that even where there is wrongdoing, misspeak or error they will defend it as being right. We cannot control their narrative nor leadership so we will focus on what we can control. That is us and our mission. In doing so, BRICK will commit its annual affiliation fees in perpetuity to organizations that promote the continued fight in marching forward towards a world of equality and the removal of racism at any and all levels. Outside of our ability to write the word CrossFit in our schedule, website or on a T Shirtnothing else about BRICK will change. Everything you fell in love with will remain. BRICK Fam - Moments ago Mayor Garcetti announced emergency steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in further efforts to protect people across LA. Effective at midnight Pacific Standard Time tonight, March 16th, BRICK Los Angeles is forced to close our doors to the public through March 31st.
