The 2020 Brea Senior Health Fair & Flu Shot Clinic this past Friday looked different than in previous years, but still managed to be a fantastic event! We were able to serve a large number of seniors while maintaining social distancing, taking temperatures, and requiring masks. Special goodie bags were even distributed to seniors as they left their appointments! Today our Pioneer Hall building located at 304 W. Elm St. Brea, CA 92821 opens as a Vote Center. The Vote Center will be open from October 30 - November 2 (8 a.m. - 8 p.m.) and November 3 (7 a.m. - 8 p.m.). Vote Centers will feature electronic check-in and ballot system, disabled access voting, ballot drop-off, voter registration options, and personal customer service support and problem solving. Today's to-go Chuseok lunch event generously sponsored by the Brea Korea Sister City Association was a huge success! 150 seniors signed up for appointment times spaced out over 4 hours to pick up their pre-packed lunches . The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District (OCMVD) has confirmed that mosquito samples infected with West Nile virus have been found in Brea near Me...mory Garden Memorial Park. Posters will be placed in the affected areas and OCMVD will continue to monitor. Please take precautions when outdoors. Wear mosquito repellents when mosquitoes are most active, from dawn or dusk, and check for standing water to tip out.
