Brea schools will start on-campus instruction this week. It's been almost a year without the morning/afternoon school traffic so let's try to ease back into things by remembering a few safety reminders. And PLEASE try to be patient with one another - 2020 has been a struggle so let's not make it any worse with angry driving.

Please join us in welcoming the newest member of the Brea PD Family - K9 Mace (named for Star Wars character, Mace Windu...not mace spray). Mace is a two-year-old Belgian Malinoise (the same breed as K9 Jarvis). Prior to being selected for Police Service, Mace was formally trained to compete in French Ring Sport. We look forward to Mace and his handler Officer Harris completing training and getting out on patrol! #BreaPD #K9 #policeK9 #policedogs #starwars #macewindu

Don't get us wrong - we love a good social media session that takes us down the weird rabbit hole of exes and eating habits (you know what we're talking about). But there is no secret database that allows us find, locate or know personal information just based on a user name or profile image. Most social media platforms take privacy very seriously and do not give out information without a subpoena. #BreaPD #truecrime #reality #crimeshows

Thank you ABC7 for highlighting the hard work that Officer Hill and her VIPS, Claudia & Lavonne, put in to helping our homeless community. Their dedication, compassion and commitment to service are a true asset to not only our department but also the entire Brea community. https://abc7.com//brea-police-officer-lends-helpi/6822093/

On October 1st, a Brea Legend retired after a lifetime of dedicated service. Lorna Lum started her illustrious career with the City of Brea in March 1974 with the Finance Department. In 1989, Lorna transitioned over to Police Administration, which is where she continued to work for another 31 years. During her time with the Brea Police Department, Lorna assisted in the hiring process and helped developed protocols for the administration side of recruitment. She was meticulo...us, detail-oriented and had an extremely sharp memory for every name, face and number. Humble, generous, dedicated and caring are all attributes that describe Lorna, but if you asked anyone what her best quality is, it would be her sense of humor. Lorna has a joke for every occasion, every season, every day of the year. Her ability to make people laugh is truly something that will be missed by everyone here. Congratulations Lorna happy retirement! See more

Remember when you were a kid and all you wanted was snail mail? Then you got older and the mail was full of bills & junk mail? Well, we can’t change those bills but we can say that every once in a while, a nice surprise shows up, like these letters from our community.... Thank you to the members at @fullerton.free who hand wrote postcards to each of our officers. Thank you to the young residents for the kind and beautiful drawings. . . . #BreaPD #welovebrea #thankful #wekeeponkeepingon See more
