Biscuits is a sweet, shy kitty looking for a quiet Home for the Holidays. When the shelter is quiet, you can easily pick him up and place him on your lap, and he will stay there for a long time, purring away as you pet him. Biscuits previously shared a habitat room with another cat without issues, so adopting him with another kitty or having a resident kitty should be just fine with proper introduction. Biscuits will probably be squishing himself on the red bookshelf when yo...u visit with him. He doesn't mind it when you go down to his hiding spot and pet him. If you adopt him, we suggest you start him off in a room with few hiding spots. When it's time to watch TV, bring him out and set him on your lap while you are watching movie or your favorite show (this is just one way to help him earn confidence). Since he has longer fur, he should be brushed regularly, at least once a week, to prevent his fur from matting. Biscuits adoption fee is sponsored right now! With the arrival of cold and wet weather also comes rodents who may come into your house or outdoor structures to find warmth, leaving behind a trail of waste and damage to your property. Before you consider calling an exterminator, consider adopting barn cats an environmentally friendly rodent control solution! Bradshaw Animal Shelter has many barn cats of different temperaments available for adoption. We have feral/unsocial cats that would be great for rural properties or... wineries, and we also have garden cats that would be great for suburban properties. Garden cats are avoidant of people and will keep an arm’s distance from you, but over time could be less skittish if you are patient and give them time and attention. Barn cats will need a proper-contained acclimation period like a barn, unused garage, outdoor shed with windows (we will provide you instructions), and daily food and fresh water. In return, they are great mousers and in time, great outdoor pets. Available barn/garden cats are found on our shelter website at saccountyshelter.net and have no adoption fee. They come spayed/neutered so that they do not contribute to the stray cat population. Sophia's Adoption Update "It’s been three years since we brought home our senior kitty from the Catfe. Her first few days she stayed under the couch, eventually lured out at the sound of a chip bag. Hiawatha, now known as Sophia, quickly settled in claiming her favorite window perch and supervising us through this past year's work from home time. She’s a silly little cuddle bug, who has been a loving auntie to the kitten fosters we’ve had through Bradshaw Shelter Cat and Ki...tten Fostering.
