Did you know that more fires are reported in the United States on the 4th of July than any other day of the year? While the best way to enjoy fireworks is to watch a professional or public display many people set off their own fireworks. If you do so, use outdoors only, on a paved surface, away from dry grass, structures and wooded areas. Firework related fires have caused approximately $20 million in property loss to structures per year over the last decade as stray embers can easily catch and become a full blown fire, causing extensive damage. However you celebrate today we hope you have an enjoyable 4th of July and please remember to be safe!
