The California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors is please to announce the first ever CALPCC Fellows program. This program was designed to help foster diverse and marginalized students with significant barriers to obtain counseling licensure and thrive as practitioners. The mission and vision of CALPCC is to constantly strive to support the LPCC license in the State of California and to provide leadership and advocacy at the state level. As we march fo...rward, we believe that it is also our duty as an association to grow the profession and support the growth of a diverse mental health workforce. The CALPCC Fellows program will seek to invite primarily BIPOC (Black Indigenous, and People of Color) undergraduate students and those who are part of marginalized populations to take part in an introductory year long fellowship program supported by the association. Students will have exposure to counseling through monthly programming on topics such as cross-cultural counseling, mental health stigma, law and ethics in practice, the licensure process, and much more. They will be introduced to the organization through student membership, have access to CALPCC programming throughout the year, and be mentored by our Board Members throughout their time in the program. As the program is piloting, we will be accepting a total of 20 students between San Francisco State and San Jose State Universities from undergraduate programs in Psychology, Sociology, Education, or Criminal Justice who are earning their first degree. For the next term, we hope to expand the program across the state. As always, we are looking to gain sponsorship and support for this new initiative to make in an ongoing success. If you or your organization would like to sponsor this program, become a mentor for our students, volunteer your time to deliver a learning module, or become otherwise involved, please reach out to us at [email protected]. #california #calpcc #mentalhealth See more

Exercise is always important, but so is protecting yourself from COVID-19. When exercising in public spaces, practice physical distancing, wash your hands with water and soap before and after your workout, and wear a mask indoors or in close quarters. #YourActionsSaveLives

Close with your friends and family? That’s great. But if they’re not living with you, lower the risk by wearing a mask, keeping your distance and staying outdoors when you see them. #YourActionsSaveLives

I will discuss the waivers which have been extended. Why email address is so important and how you can update it. Applications you can submit online. And of course, answer questions about the application process and anything else that comes to mind.
