COVID-19 has had a damaging and unequal impact on working women, who before the pandemic played a critical role in the economy and economic stability of families. We must build an equitable economy, centering those who have previously been left out or undervalued and specifically designing policies that benefit women of color. This includes addressing racism and sexism, while also investing in an equitable care infrastructure. "If we truly want to 'build back better' we need bold solutions that address the legacy and realities of racism and sexism that have left women of color with so little wealth to begin with." - Elena Chávez Quezada of San Francisco Foundation and Heather McCulloch of Closing the Women's Wealth Gap write for PolicyLink https://www.policylink.org/covid19-and-race/commentary

Our grantee partners are dedicated to empowering the communities they serve and developing innovative and sustainable solutions for those most affected by health inequities and domestic violence. This work is more important than ever as COVID-19 continues to shed light on the vast inequities across our state. We're thankful for our partnership with Blue Shield of California and their continued devotion to our mission of making California the healthiest state and ending domestic violence. http://ow.ly/PaZQ50DNh6D
