Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church 02.11.2020

With the blessing of our Lord, the membership has voted to acquire a church and surrounding land we can proudly call our own. The contract has been signed, and the clock is running to close the deal. The land is approximately 5.5 acres, situated on a hilltop located at 2330 and 2350 Harbor View Drive in Martinez, and includes the following: - A fully furnished church building of 6500 square feet with the following amenities:... - A small hall, two offices, a kitchen and two separate bathrooms Seating for about 175 people - A paved parking that holds 80 cars - A 2200 square foot house, on a separate parcel However, we can't make this dream a reality without your help, commitment and financial support. We believe this is truly an opportunity of a lifetime that we cannot afford to lose. How can you help? There are four different options available: 1. Make a direct donation to the church in any amount. 2. Provide the church a loan which will, along with other lenders, be secured by a deed of trust on the church property. The church will pay you interest at the rate of 3% per year. Monthly payments to you will be interest only. (For example, if the loan is for $100,000, you would receive a monthly interest payment of $250.) If your circumstances change, you may request repayment of some or all of the original loan amount by providing sixty (60) days written notice to the church requesting the funds. 3. A combination of options 1 and 2, above. Your contribution can be made as part donation, and a part loan. 4. As an additional option in lieu of cash, you can donate shares of any appreciated stocks or other securities in a publicly traded company to the church without having to pay any federal taxes on the gain. This is a great way to help your church and yourself without incurring any IRS tax liability. Please check with your tax adviser on this option. Please note that no amount is too small, as every bit will help make this dream a reality. We thank you in advance and may our Lord keep you in His care. If you would like to make a direct donation, please mail a check to: Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church P.O. Box 254 Lafayette, CA 94549-0254 Or click below to donate via PayPal https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=MU8HQTN4HNACC Questions about the property or loan options? Call our Building Committee Chairman, Anis "Nick" Shamiyeh at 925-899-8756, or Osama Salfiti, Board President at 415-860-8080 Here are images from inside the church and hall:

Prokeimenon. Mode Plagal 4. Psalm 18.4,1 Their voice has gone out into all the earth. Verse: The heavens declare the glory of God.... The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Philippians 3:1-8 Brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is not irksome to me, and is safe for you. Look out for the dogs, look out for the evil-workers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. For we are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit, and glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh. Though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If any other man thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born of Hebrews; as to the law a Pharisee, as to zeal a persecutor of the church, as to righteousness under the law blameless. But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ.
