Fred Montgomery served on the Blue Diamond Board of Directors for 28 years. He is remembered for his integrity, knowledge, and many contributions to the almond industry, one being this washer he designed for almond meats in the 1940s. As the almond meats moved down the rotating barrel, a water pipe with small nozzles ran the length of the screen cylinder spraying them and washing away any soil particles. #ThrowbackThursday
