IMPORTANT COMMUNITY MEETING The Igo Ono Community Services District, IOCSD, has received questions and concerns from its customers and residents of the district... regarding the issues at Rainbow Lake and Messelbeck Dam. The current issues are the result of three unusual events occurring over the last 18 months--the Carr Fire, the February snow and rain storms, and the May thunderstorm. Three issues are of primary concern: the Messelbeck Dam outlet pipes are plugged with Carr Fire debris and sediment; the capacity of the lake is reduced by large amounts of Carr Fire debris and sediment which is being deposited in the lake; there is a vast amount of floating debris on the lake surface which has the potential to obstruct the flow of water over the spillway. A detailed description of the issues and an Incident Timeline of events was mailed to all IOCSD customers. IOCSD has been exploring options to remedy the issues and a Hazard Mitigation planning meeting, a very important component in the process to gain FEMA approval of our Plan, has been called. Public participation is crucial and all IOCSD customers, as well as all community members, are strongly encouraged to attend this short meeting. IOCSD HAZARD MITIGATION PLANNING MEETING WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 6:15 PM AT ONO GRANGE Customers and community members are also welcome and encouraged to attend the regular IOCSD meetings. The next regular meeting is Tuesday, January 14, 7:00 PM at the Igo School Library.

Wow what an amazing night. I am so proud of Cowboy 911 and its members. Tonight Cowboys 911 was honored to receive a congressional award from Doug Lamalfa and and a certificate of appreciation award from the Butte county 4H for our actions during the Camp Fire.
