I’ve been silent lately, but inside I’m screaming. I cannot believe the misinformation being shared about masks. A simple mask that should be so common sense an...d selfless has become another battle of opinion and false information. Today, I literally completed a 60 minute Peloton Power Zone ride rotating between a cloth mask, surgical mask and an N95 with a pulse oximeter on my finger. My pulse ox never dropped below 95%. I also have exercise induced asthma. I was uncomfortable, but still able to oxygenate without difficulty. Forgive my photographer, she’s 7 years old. She had a tough time capturing the pulse at the same time as the pulse ox in the photos because it was constantly fluctuating. Bottom line... A mask will not drop your oxygen level. A mask will not raise your CO2 (carbon dioxide) levels. A mask will not destroy your immune system. A mask will significantly decrease particles. A mask will not increase inhaled toxins. A mask will not make you sick. Bottom line... Protect yourself. Protect each other. Wear one if you’re well. Wear one if you’re ill. Check your facts. Just wear a mask!
