Farewell to Fall -- Last Glory on Markley Creek *********************************************************************** This time of year, after Thanksgiving, when the sun is low in the sky, the hills have a different feel to them. Shadows are deeper, the dry grass is mellower, and the chill of night is never far away. The day and the season seem to be passing away together.... Colors are soft, from the buckeye butterfly’s wing, to the buckeye tree holding onto the last of its leaves and fruit, to the flowers of mule fat in the evening light, to a turkey feather left over from Coyote’s Thanksgiving feast. Cottonwoods rustle in the wind and start to shed leaves freely. There is more where this came from. Come get some for yourself before it’s gone. Season’s Greetings, The Black Diamond Staff
