Ho, ho, ho! Scuba Santa is making a splash, virtually, at Birch Aquarium. Tune in from home live to see Scuba Santa and his elf feed the fish in the Giant Kelp Forest. See local creatures like Leopard Sharks, Moray Eels, and a 300 pound endangered Giant Black Sea Bass. Birch Aquarium naturalists will narrate the feeding and answer your questions live as you enjoy this free family friendly virtual event.
Happy 6th Turtleversary to our beautiful rescued Loggerhead Sea Turtle! Each January we celebrate her arrival and her role as an animal ambassador for all marine reptiles. We’ll be sharing sea turtle stories and fun facts through January to celebrate our Loggerhead girl and other species of sea turtles, all of which need protection. What is your favorite type of sea turtle?

This beautiful, and large, Serpent Star is a type Brittle Star - echinoderms with five arms that radiate from a central disk. Aquarist Fernando brought this special specimen out just for Haunted Aquarium Remix touch experiences. It has been living behind the scenes for 10 years!

You never know who you might see during Haunted Aquarium Remix! How about a skeleton diver surrounded by swirling sardines? There are no set dive show times, but if you're lucky you might see something, or someone, unexpected, and a little spooky, on your next visit!
Not to be overshadowed by the flashy male, our female Orate Boxfish gets lots of love from staff and guests. She is slightly smaller and her beautiful swirling stripes help break up her silhouette to protect her from predators. See her in our Seadragons & Seahorses exhibit!
