Consider A Donation to HSRC on Giving Tuesday -- Many people are attracted to the idea of a day of generosity after the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday is a global movement that inspires people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. If you would like to participate by helping local seniors to be healthy and independent, we encourage you to give to the Humboldt Senior Resource Center. Go to humsenior.org or call us at 707-443-9747.

Are you in the market for a new car? If yes, you can help HSRC's Senior Nutrition Program! During Subaru's Share the Love Event, between now and January 4, 2021 Subaru of America will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of participating charities, which includes Meals on Wheels America, of which HSRC is a member. In addition, as a Home Town Charity, HSRC can receive an additional $250 per vehicle from McCrea Subaru in Eureka if designated by the buyer. See humsenior.org for more info.
For Pat Bitton of Eureka, baking her great, crusty balls of sourdough bread is part of her regular routine, and a way to connect with others even during a pandemic. Food really is the greatest way to bring people together, Pat says. Even though we can’t (yet) get back to picnics and dinner parties, exchanging gifts of food is a wonderful way to spread gratitude. We’re all in this together, and, let’s face it, food makes everything better. Read all about it in the November Food Issue of Senior News, online here: http://www.humsenior.org///SeniorNews-Nov-final-forweb.pdf
