It is with a sense of relief and hope that I look forward to the future. The immigration system was battered and violated the last four years, resulting in pain and real suffering. Here is hoping that even if only some of this bill passes Congress, we can assist even more families reunite with their loved ones.

You can do everything right and still.... Yes, this only affects a small group of people. Yes, it is most impactful for those that might have criminal issues. BUT if we are willing to pass private bills for individuals, then why not do the right thing and help people who's documentation would finally mirror the life they led all these years.

*Breaking!!* USCIS has been stopped from raising their fees on 10/02/2020 pending the court hearing on the issue. This is great news considering they wanted to double the filing fees for naturalization and increase other fees substantially.

It is unfortunate that it takes a lawsuit for this Administration to do the right thing. In 2017, they tried to make it much harder for immigrants, who are already serving in the military, to gain US citizenship. The message being - you're good enough to die for our country but you are not good enough to be one of us. The government is being ordered to accept initial DACA filings pursuant to the supreme court decision. This is great news! Because it is an order to go back to the way it was, they should be accepting applications, although nothing is showing on their website yet.

This government is cruel and it’s actions are unconscionable. Even those that argue well illegal immigrants don’t deserve blah blah blah will probably defend this action too.
