It is with a sense of relief and hope that I look forward to the future. The immigration system was battered and violated the last four years, resulting in pain and real suffering. Here is hoping that even if only some of this bill passes Congress, we can assist even more families reunite with their loved ones.

You can do everything right and still.... Yes, this only affects a small group of people. Yes, it is most impactful for those that might have criminal issues. BUT if we are willing to pass private bills for individuals, then why not do the right thing and help people who's documentation would finally mirror the life they led all these years.

Amazing news!! "DHS is DIRECTED to post a public notice, within 3 calendar days of this Order, to be displayed prominently on its website and on the websites of all other relevant agencies, that it is accepting first-time requests for consideration of deferred action under DACA, renewal requests, and advance parole requests, based on the terms of the DACA program prior to September 5, 2017, and in accordance with this court's Memorandum & Order of November 14, 2020," Garaufis wrote. https://www.cnn.com//po/daca-applications-order/index.html

DO Carry evidence of your residency, work permit or other form of proof that you are here legally. - US CITIZENS - especially those of Hispanic descent - consider getting a passport card to carry in your wallet. DO Carry evidence of your physical presence here in the US (that is at least 2 weeks old). ... DO NOT Open your doors unless the "police" have a warrant with a judge's signature. Call an immigration attorney to discuss your options and what this new push to deport means for you.

The I was ordered to do it didn’t work at the Nuremberg trials. Gene Hamilton, a top lawyer and ally of Stephen Miller, the architect of the president’s assault on immigration, argued in a 32-page response that Justice Department officials merely took direction from the president. https://www.nytimes.com//family-separation-border-immigrat

*Breaking!!* USCIS has been stopped from raising their fees on 10/02/2020 pending the court hearing on the issue. This is great news considering they wanted to double the filing fees for naturalization and increase other fees substantially.

It is unfortunate that it takes a lawsuit for this Administration to do the right thing. In 2017, they tried to make it much harder for immigrants, who are already serving in the military, to gain US citizenship. The message being - you're good enough to die for our country but you are not good enough to be one of us. I am very happy that the federal court agreed that we should be abiding by *established* immigration law. https://www.aclu.org//federal-court-rules-trump-cant-block

A coalition of attorneys and organizations are seeking an emergency nationwide injunction of the fee increase rule to prevent it from going into effect on October 2, 2020.

In defiance of the Supreme Court and a federal court order... USCIS has decided to not accept initial DACA applications, nor advance parole requests based on them. Also, they are reducing the validity period to one year (instead of the two that it is currently).

The government is being ordered to accept initial DACA filings pursuant to the supreme court decision. This is great news! Because it is an order to go back to the way it was, they should be accepting applications, although nothing is showing on their website yet.

This government is cruel and it’s actions are unconscionable. Even those that argue well illegal immigrants don’t deserve blah blah blah will probably defend this action too.
