Drive-thru voter registration event! Your vote, your voice! In the current climate, voter registration and voting security are questioned. Richmond Public Lib...rary, and local young adults and teens are hosting a drive-thru National Voter Registration Day event, Tuesday, September 22, 2020, 12:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot facility located at 25th Street and Barrett Avenue in Richmond, CA. National Voter Registration Day serves as a day where local organizations really push to register many undecided, unregistered, or new voters regardless of political ideology and preference. Residents of Contra Costa and Alameda Counties that are U.S. citizens, and have a mailing address (no post office boxes) are targeted in this secure event. Citizens that don’t have a permanent address but have an address where mail is received are also encouraged to register. Registrations are secured by submitting them directly to the county elections office and not through the US postal service

From the beginning, I can recall going over to the Adeline corridor for Berkeley’s annual Juneteenth celebration which started off as sort of a combination block party/reunion. It seemed as though each year on F...Continue reading
