Catherine Fasciato will be featured artist in March, known for her fresh, dynamic style and exciting blend of realism and impressionism, Catherine's Seascapes is a collection of oil paintings she has created along Northern California's rugged coastline. This collection concentrates on the Benicia waterways stretching to the Bay Area and Mendocino. Driven by her passion to capture the ever-changing moods of the sea, Catherine can often be seen braving the elements along craggy... bluffs, translating crashing waves and salty spray into lively brushwork and vivid color. She loves to express the spirit of the environment, believing that paintings, like music, can stir the emotions. Catherine participates frequently in plein air events and exhibits, garnering top awards. Her work has been honored by the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, California Art Club, California Plein Air Painters, Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters, the Carmel Art Festival, Arts Benicia and other regional and national organizations. Benicia Plein Air Gallery is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and Catherine is a founding member.
