He often said it was the best he ever had. (And that was saying a lot given how often he went to Italy.) This is such a tough time for small business owners, and I have so much appreciation for restaurants that are there, cooking, keeping part of their team at work and delivering quality food, no matter what. I had a long conversation with chef @michelebgbelotti, that you can find on these days, tirelessly preparing fresh pasta in Oakland that tastes like heaven. He told me that when he first opened @belottirb had no cash cushions, and slept for a while at the restaurant, on the floor "close to the boiler," he said.
