We had a great Valentine’s Day book fair today! The kids and parents/guardians got to take as many books as they wanted thanks to donations from Panda Express, Barnes & Noble and Kohl's. Thanks to our staff for decorating and bringing a Scholastic book fair feel to the event. #begreatie #bookfair #literacy

Club alum Denzel Washington was the first African American to win multiple Academy Awards. Before Denzel Washington became known for his acting, he was a Club ...kid attending the Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon. At the Club, Denzel was mentored by Billy Thomas and learned several life-long lessons. Denzel has received several accolades for his work, including his work on the movie "Glory" and "Training Day." This week, our Youth of the Year will be chosen! Meet our candidates: This is Nicole. She's been a member for 5 years and is a high school junior. She wants to major in international studies or education, possibly at Purdue University. She wants to own a dance company and/or teach English. She wants to pursue dance in South Korea and has been learning the language. #BeGreatIE #YouthOfTheYear
