A message from WM: "Waste Management temporary green waste collection service change: Biweekly collection Starting Monday, December 7, 2020- Waste Management will start collecting green waste every other week. This will be temporarily until the end of January to respond to the shortage of drivers due to Covid-19.... To make sure we can continue to provide critical trash collection services to our customers, it is important that we take proactive steps to respond to Covid related staffing issues. This will allow us to use the green waste route drivers during the off weeks to help cover open routes both on the residential and commercial side. During the Holidays, green waste material volume drops significantly while trash and recycling volumes will increase due to holiday shopping and gatherings. We are still committed to collecting Christmas trees the two weeks following Christmas and continue curbside bulky waste program. This is temporary collection change that we will monitor until the end of January. If our staffing levels get back to normal, we will quickly switch to weekly green waste service. 2020 HOLIDAY HOURS City of Beaumont Administrative Offices will be closed to the public beginning Monday, December 21 and reopen on Monday, January 4. Virtual City Services will be available December 21 - 23 and December 28 - 30. Offices will be CLOSED December 24 & 25 in observance of Christmas and December 31 & January 1 in observance of New Years. ... High winds have again delayed judging for the citywide Christmas Lights and Holiday Sights Decorating Contest. Judging will take place on beginning Wednesday, December 9th. A map of all the entries will be published for residents to view.
