Beautiful sunny skies are expected today with a high of 34F and North Northeast winds in the low teens with some gusting into the low 20's. The next few days look to be mostly clear but expect winds to return Tuesday with values in the 20's and gusting into the 30's. Surface gradients will keep those winds around into Wednesday as we crest at 40F and ...a slight chance of snow shower activity on Thursday ahead of the weekend. After a day of mixed precipitation yesterday this mornings temp drop certainly ushers along some great skiing & riding today. A partly sunny day is ahead with 27F being the high coupled with west winds up to 10...mph. Snowfall elevations were at 7000' most of the day yesterday which kept the lower Mtn closed due to wet avalanche hazards. Today a delay on the lower Mtn should be expected and a possible closure based on the wet loose snow down there. Ski Patrol will evaluate the lower mtn this morning for the possible opening today. The pattern looks to shift into high pressure ridging for the next 5 days so sunshine and warming temps are on tap. Well.................warmer temps than expected have made their way into the mix as we picked up 6" of new snow overnight despite the rising temp which is currently hovered at 32F. The temps looks to be around 31F for the day so let's hope that comes down a bit and helps the expected 3-5" during the day. Winds look to increase a bit today with gusts i...nto the low 20's in the morning hours and lessening by afternoon. Scattered snow showers are expected tonight through Saturday before exiting East late Saturday night. A delay on the Grizzly Bowl should be expected this morning as Ski Patrol will be out doing avalanche mitigation. We continuously offer clinics to our Instruction and Coaching staff to help them learn, grow and become better instructors. This past weekend we hosted a preparation clinic for our Level 1 instructors to prepare for their upcoming Level 2 certification exam. Our instructors completed a two-day training period with expert PSIA examiner Rick Raduziner.The clinic's focus was to check in on our instruc...tor's skiing skills to make sure they're prepped and ready for level two's rigorous examination process. . We wish our level two candidates good luck on their exams, and we want to extend thanks to them for always trying their best and putting a smile on your face! February 15th 2021 32F @ 5am Northwest wind 6-11mph Base-78 Overnight-0" Current Storm total-0" Season Total-145 Hey Good People! Warm air this morning is certainly influencing the snowfall/snowpack as the temp at 5am was 32F and is still hovering there currently. 2-4" of snowfall is expected today and with the current model runs it looks as though that may have a better chance this afternoon for production so we'll just have to wait and see how that plays out. A few days ...of drying out will follow with another system arriving Friday bringing snowfall into Sunday morning. These systems look to bring snowfall to the higher elevations as warm air aloft will affect weather for the next 5-6days. The Grizz Bowl/Snow Valley will be closed today due to increasing Avalanche Danger with warming temps and lite rain all night long being the deciding factors there. A beautiful bluebird style day is ahead with the high coming in around 31F and lite ESE winds up to 8mph. The recent system brought 15" of new snow over the last 2 days and Grizz was epic riding as well as all aspects of on and off-piste skiing & riding around the resort. Tonight's system will bring 1-2" of new snow with another 2-4" sla...ted for Monday and some residual snowfall Monday evening before the system heads East.
