MAY IS CALFRESH AWARENESS MONTH -PANDEMIC EBT- Pandemic EBT Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals at school will get extra food benefits. These food benefits are called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT benefits. P-EBT benefits help families in California buy food when schools are closed because of the coronavirus emergency. Families will get up to $365 per eligible child on their P-EBT card to use on food and groceries. Families with ch...ildren who get CalFresh, Medi-Cal or Foster Care benefits do not need to apply. Most will get their P-EBT card in the mail during the month of May. P-EBT cards will begin arriving around May 12, 2020. Families with children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals and who do not get their P-EBT card in the mail by about May 22, 2020 must apply online before June 30, 2020. Take this serious: while the risk of severe complications or death are much higher for older people and those with underlying conditions, this COVID-19 is also dangerous for young adults, teenagers and kids 2. Stay home if you are feeling sick: Safer for your health if you stay home if you are fe...eling sick. seek medical advice if you develop COVID-19 symptoms 3. Donate to others if you can: you could help by donating toiletries in various centers, or event donating your time to go for essentials for the elderly 4. Don't spread misinformation: search for accurate information and reliable sources such as World Health Organization or the Centers for Decease Control and Prevention 5. Be gentle with yourself and others: these are difficult times, and we all cope with anxiety and depression differently. if you feel you need help, our behavioral team is here for you to help! 6. Practice social distancing: 6 Feet apart from others to protect yourself and others 7. Wash your hands: CDC suggests to wash our hands for around 20 seconds. Washing your hands is one of the best was to protect yourself and others from getting sick.
