Coronavirus Outbreak To our partners and our community We understand that there is a lot of concern in our local community as news of the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop. Bay Medic Ambulance/Transportation is continuing to monitor and respond to this evolving situation and is committed to keeping our community safe by introducing new safeguards and procedures.... What we are doing to keep you safe For your safety and to minimize the potential of virus exposure for our clients and staff, we are screening and properly documenting all incoming transport request via phone before scheduling any transport appointments. At Bay Medic we always put the health and safety of our patients and employees first. Our management team has been closely monitoring the developments in the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) over the past several weeks as it continues to evolve. This monitoring includes communication with medical professionals and monitoring updates and information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Our dedicated team currently meets once a day to review updates and determine if any action is necessary. As of today, we have not experienced any occurrences that required any action. In addition to monitoring everything closely we have conducted training with our team members that include: Hand washing 4 to 6 times per shift with soap and water for at least 20 seconds We are providing free hand sanitizers for our team members and clients’ during our public relations managers’ scheduled visits to each of our partners’ locations. Reminders to avoid touching eyes, nose, mouth or face Increased cleaning of all working surfaces including a full disinfectant application a minimum of one time per day Mandatory requirement for all our field crews (CCT, ALS, BLS, Transporters, and Wheelchair), to decontaminate the wheelchairs and gurneys with the PDI Sani-Cloth Wipes for before and after a patient is transported. Our teams are required to decontaminate all additional non-disposable equipment used on every transport. We also require our Team, Transporters, EMT, Nurses, Paramedics to use sanitizer before entering a patients’ room and promptly after leaving the room. We are also supporting our staff to stay home if they or anyone in their home feels ill. How Bay Medic is prepared to transport patients with COVID-19 We have detailed plans in place for our partners: hospitals, outpatient facilities, private homes, dialysis centers, nursing skilled facilities, and doctors’ offices. We manage the care of infectious or potentially infectious patients every day. Your care and safety are always our top priorities.
