SATURDAY'S GAME WILL BE POSTPONED. After close consultation with our venue, Fort Mason, Bay Area Derby has decided to postpone Game 2 on Saturday, March 7, 2020 due to growing concerns about COVID-19. Having spent a great deal of time and effort preparing for the game, we are incredibly disappointed to not be able to hold the event, and we know our fans are as well. However, ensuring the wellbeing of our community is our top priority, and we believe rescheduling the game is... the best way to do that. The new date for this game will be announced in the coming weeks. If you have already purchased tickets on Eventbrite for the 3/7 game, the cost of your ticket can be applied to a future game or refunded altogether. You’ll receive an email with details regarding refunds and transfers shortly. BAD intends to hold games on May 9th and May 30th at Fort Mason, as planned. We want to thank all our fans, volunteers and partners for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you at the next game.

WRECKING BELLE WEDNESDAY! Did you know that our Bay Area Derby home teams played in Fort Mason in 2012? Here's a throwback to a nail-biting game between the Richmond Wrecking Belle's and the San Francisco Shevil Dead. Before the WFTDA ruleset, there used to be 2 whistles to start the game. The first whistle allowed the blockers to move and the second released the jammer. When the blockers took a knee like in this photo, this immediately forced a second whistle.
