Hello Bar Calo friends and family, we are happy to announce that this Friday, September 5th, we will be reopening to the public!Our initial hours for reopening are Thursday through Sunday from 5 PM to 10 PM, which we’ll expand based on demand.We will be running a limited food menu with plenty of expanded outdoor patio seating, cocktails, wine and mezcal (also available to go!). We are using the best cleaning and sanitization practices and will be diligently following and exceeding all COVID protocols. Our team is masked up, and happy to serve Echo Park once again!

Tonight’s Escuela de Mezcal we’re highlighting Bar Director, @jeremysimpsn’s favorite agave varietal, #TOBALA. Every Tuesday for Escuela de Mezcal, we feature half-off tastings! About the size of a volleyball, Agave Potatorum is harvested wild, ideally in higher altitudes, which emphasizes the delicate floral aromatics of the agave. The flavor profile is soft, almost salty at times (depending on the region in which it was harvested) with subtle flavors of white flowers, slate, and citrus blossoms. Due to the low yields, the smaller general size of Tobala, and the fact that it’s harvested from the wild, these bottlings are becoming increasingly more rare as the popularity of the industry continues to trend upward.
We know it’s Monday but good news, that means we’ve got all-night happy hour! This includes bar bites and cocktails for your Monday night fun. We’re open at 4pm!
