We were blessed to have our students graduate (Andrew was out of town) from their 200-Hour Teacher Training on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. What is a guru? In Sanskrit gu = darkness and ru = light or cessation of darkness. For me, yoga has always been my greatest guru That eternal union which leads me from darkness to light. It was such a joy for Mike and I to share our love of yoga with a group of dedicated students. These are very loyal students who have ...been with us for almost a decade. There is something to be said about the Guru-Shishya relationship, where a deep bond is formed between the two. This is a bond of mutual respect and unconditional love for something that is greater than ourselves. This pandemic shook the very ground that we stood upon and left us feeling insecure, isolated and unsure. However, our training helped to rekindle and reassure our passion of yoga. For many of us, this training was a savior. We bonded virtually, as if we were never apart, and for this I will be forever grateful. Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu Gurur Devo Maheshwaraha Guru Saakshaat Param Brahma Tasmai Shree Guruvai Namah Guru is the representative of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. He creates, sustains knowledge and destroys the weeds of ignorance.
