Our 11th Annual CHiPs for KiDs toy drive looked a little different this year due to COVID. Although we were not able to have our usual toy drive drive, we are blessed to have been able to provide gifts and smiles to some members of our community just in time for Christmas. A huge thank you to Target East Hills location, Carniceria La Carreta, Furniture City, Price Disposal, CHP 420 Club, CHP Retirees group, Motor City, and members of our community for helping make this event a success this year.

Do you feel the need for speed?? A ticket over 100 mph can win you a $500 (plus court fees) fine and a 30 day suspension to your driver’s license. It’s not worth it, slow it down. CHP - Fort Tejon - Grapevine CHP - Buttonwillow

We are excited to welcome our new commander of the Bakersfield CHP Area! On November 1, 2020, a new commander was assigned to the Bakersfield Area of the California Highway Patrol (CHP). A native Californian, Captain Levi Miller is a 21-year member of the Department. Miller joined the CHP in 1999 and was assigned to the East Los Angeles Area. He later transferred to the Morongo Basin Area and promoted to Sergeant in the Arrowhead Area of the CHP. Most recently, Miller ...served as the Administrative Lieutenant within the CHP’s Inland Division. Captain Miller holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Master’s degree in Education from California State University, East Bay. The CHP is a family tradition for Captain Miller as he is one of four brothers on the Department. Captain Miller said, The Bakersfield Area is one of the busiest and largest commands in the CHP. I am grateful and humbled to serve alongside the women and men who are dedicated each day to providing the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security to the people of California.
