Save Our Stages! We don't just need your money... We need a few minutes of your time! ___________________________________________... As you may be aware, most Arts venues are struggling to survive this devastating pandemic. Our stages closed immediately and we will be among the last businesses permitted to reopen. The Bach is just one of many music venues impacted and support from our wonderful jazz community is helping. Many venues face even more dire outlooks. The Bach recognizes that our collective health and safety must come first. That being said, music and other performing arts are critical to our lives. Herb Alpert was asked recently why music matters. He responded, Are you kidding me? I think, actually, musicians are the second responders. Saving our venues is a worthy cause. Would you join us in taking a few minutes to share your voice? Save our Stages - Yesterday, Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) introduced the "Save Our Stages" Act, which would provide Small Business Administration grants for independent venues, promoters, and festivals affected by COVID-19 stay-at-home orders. These grants would offer at least six months of financial support to keep us afloat, pay employees, and help preserve a critical economic sector and ecosystem for communities across America.
