Happy Saturday! Dos Vientos Field 3 is closed by CRPD due to a broken sprinkler. (See below for game rescheduling information.) ALL other field are open and ALL other games at both Pepper Tree Playfields and Dos Vientos Community Park are being played as scheduled. Get ready for Picture Day on Sunday, September 15! To speed things up, please fill in your photo order form before arriving. The basic package is already included in your league registration fee. In addition, we will be collecting gently used soccer equipment, clothing, and trophies for donation to needy youth programs, so if you need to make room in your closet or shelf, please feel free to help out. Check with your team parent volunteer for your scheduled time. If you can't make it this weekend, make-up photos (teams and individuals) will be taken on Saturday, October 19, time TBA.

We're less than 24 hours from opening kickoff! Key things to remember for everyone coming to the fields: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate - start drinking water tonight and bring more water to the field. (Remember, there is NO SNACK SHACK at this time) Sunscreen - You might be at the field for just an hour or so, but that's enough to get sunburned. Slather it on before you go. Full & proper uniform - players not in the proper uniform are not able to play. This also means no je...welry and NO EARRINGS. Due to the lack of coordinators, the snack shack will be closed until further notice. Please plan accordingly. If you could possibly help, we would be ever so grateful. The duties mostly involve being on-site all day to ensure smooth operation (this could be split among multiple coordinators), cleaning up afterwards (you'll have plenty of help), and dealing with permits (again, you'll have help). Although they are many miles away, smoke from fires is filling our Newbury Park sky. There is the expectation that ash will soon be falling in Newbury Park as it already is in Thousand Oaks. To help ensure the Safety of our players and others, ALL PRACTICES IN REGION 42 ARE CANCELLED for today, Thursday, October 24th. The wind forecast for Saturday shows calmer breezes along with a shift in direction. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to high 80s. We will continue to monitor conditions in the area but expect that games will be played as scheduled. Make sure your players keep hydrated, starting with building up their hydration the evening before matches. This helps to ensure that they remain safe and helps them to enjoy their games more!

Congratulations to the US Women’s National Team on winning their 4th World Cup Championship!

With fires burning in nearby communities there is the concern about air quality and how it might affect practices and games in Newbury Park. At this time, the Air Quality in the Conejo Valley is considered "Good". Should your team have a practice today, there should be no reason to cancel due to air quality. The forecast for Saturday is that air quality will still allow for games to be played. Region 42 will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day and if conditions... worsen to the point that games need be cancelled we will post notifications here and on Twitter. (We monitor air, weather, & field conditions throughout the season cancelling games and practices if needed.) Air quality information is obtained from several sources, including the EPA, the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District and the California Air Resources Board.
