#TBT to 1984, when New York became the first state to pass a law requiring the use of seat belts. Today, New Hampshire is the only state that doesn’t require that adults wear seat belts. Did you know?: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that seat belts save over 11,000 lives a year in the U.S. alone, and that buckling up reduces our risk of dying in a car crash by 50%.

Holiday travel fact: According to studies, Americans take about one bathroom break per every 100 miles of weekend vacation driving. There are over 2,500 official rest areas, travel plazas, rest stops, service areas and welcome centers on U.S. highways and interstates.

This #TBT we say thank you to those who have defended our freedom and way of life. Veteran’s Day is Saturday. Veteran's Day was originally called Armistice Day when first established on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 to make it an annual observance, and in 1938 it became a national holiday!

Strange traffic laws #224 and #225: In Blairstown, NJ it is illegal to plant trees in the middle of the street. Apparently, it helps with traffic flow. And in Oregon, it’s a traffic violation to demonstrate your physical endurance on a highway. So when you need a tow, don’t take matters into your own.teeth. :-)
