Just wanted to share with our friends and clients a recent project we completed for a long time customer. Fender Musical Instruments hired us to retrofit their lighting both interior as well as the exterior. We have upgraded the interior lights in their warehousing and manufacturing departments with new style LED. It will save them on energy cost as well as maintenance. We also replaced their wall packs and pole lights with new style LED fixtures. It's now brighter with a fraction of the operating cost. Thank you FENDER for your continued business!!!

Avenue Electric welcomes its newest client "TOPSON DOWNS"!! Topson Downs just leased a 450,000 sq ft building in Chino. We have been busy Engineering new Electrical plan sets for City Permits to support the new improvements for their business. Topson had so many forklifts that they needed 21 chargers. We needed to install two new 400A-480V Panels as well as the supporting circuits, wireways, outlets and bollards. We installed the Chargers and pogo stix too !! Another phase of... the project included an underground railway system to guide the lifts down the 40ft tall racks. We also installed the new AP stations and 14 antenna locations for the wireless infrastructure. They have trusted us with an accelerated timeline that HAD to be made. Guess what we not only completed the project on time but finished early!! Many thanks to Mr. Williamson for awarding us this project and we look forward to serving Topson Downs for many years!! WHATS THAT FUNNY SMELL???? Every year we get calls from people both residential and commercial that are having electrical problems and just preceding and during... they thought that they were smelling something burning. More often than not the cause of their problems were burnt connections at splice's, plugs, switches or something they almost never think of to get serviced... their panel. We have a maintenance program for our commercial and industrial clients on a yearly basis where we open their panels, transformers and meter mains and tighten all connections and inspect the breakers before they fail. But what if your a residential customer you ask? We recommend that you have your electric panel serviced at least every 3 years and even sooner if you have high load items such as gourmet kitchens, multiple AC units and swimming pools. Panel maintenance can be performed in most cases for residential customers in less than 1 hour. Its cheap insurance against costly repairs after wiring, breakers and buss bars are damaged. This also helps to insure that you get the correct voltage to your expensive electronics and appliances. The picture shows a breaker that was feeding a barn in Norco. Its completely destroyed and it damaged the buss bars in the homeowners panel. A Preventative maintenance might have caught this before it was able to do so much damage. See more

The weekend of April 3rd - 5th, Avenue Electric is helping to sponsor a child with cancer. This is our 10th year participating in "Ride 4 Life". The event is held at Ocotillo Wells and it helps to raise money for a family with a child that is fighting cancer. This year we are sponsoring Jon Jon. I encourage all to join us for this event. There is a poker ride, horseshoe tournament, raffles, music and fun for all ages. You are sure to make new friendships and spend the weekend with some of the best people I know. Please contact Dave at Avenue Electric for details or for any donations you would like to make for this young man and his family. God Bless, Dave and Company

This weekend we had a plumbing leak under our kitchen sink. Water was dripping out of the cabinet from under the doors. Although my wife caught it right after the pipe came apart there still was water everywhere. She started removing the bottles and boxes so she could soak up the remaining water and then I heard a short little scream. I ran to her to help her up and asked what was wrong and guess what, she had been shocked !! This brings up a situation that everyone should be... aware of. The outlet under the sink is not required by code to be a GFCI as it feeds two dedicated pieces of equipment, the dishwasher and the garbage disposal. So my advice to all is to shut off the breakers to be safe before cleaning up water from a broken or burst pipe. There is a very remote chance that water will come in contact with the outlet and present a shock hazard. Thank God I was there and that she was OK. So remember that electricity and water are very dangerous and does not always trip a circuit breaker. Be safe out there, Dave

Just a reminder that downed power lines can and do kill. If you come upon a downed power line, stay clear and contact your local power company as soon as possible !!
