Astrosociology Research Institute (ARI) 10.10.2021

Join me on Thursday as I take part in a roundtable about sustainability in outer space. "The root question is how we will make decisions about human futures in space and How We Share Space." (see below)

Astrosociology Research Institute (ARI) 25.09.2021

#ExoAstrosociology supports #SETI and #astrobiology by adding a complementary set of social-scientific variables that expand the attention on the human dimension. Greater collaboration is the key to the future!

Astrosociology Research Institute (ARI) 09.09.2021

#Astrosociology will require an increasingly inclusive participation of students & professionals as astrosocial phenomena increasingly impact humans both on Earth & beyond. #Astrosociologists with varying levels of power, prestige, and wealth would increase scientific integrity.

I invite you to check out the Astrosociology Insights newsletter at http://astrosociology.org. (Direct link: http://astrosociology.org/vlibrary.html#VL_Newsletter). The previous three issues focus on space law and policy, space art, and space architecture.

Astrosociology Research Institute (ARI) 03.08.2021

The delayed Astrosociological Insights newsletter issue focusing on space architecture is now available. The specific theme is "Astrosociology and Space Architecture: Convergence of Physical and Social Constructs." Link: https://tinyurl.com/4s438nre

#SpaceExploration cannot be taken for granted because a not-insignificant category of humans support a greater level of Earth isolationism. They reject the need to expend so many resources beyond Earth's atmosphere while social problems ravage humankind within it. It is important to understand the countervailing social forces that reduce the pace of space exploration at current levels and may increase resistance in the future (despite the commercial triumphs that exist today). Take nothing for granted! #SocialSciences #astrosociology

While space exploration is an awesome endeavor for so many, it is not an escape from the problems plaguing Earth. Rather, it is an expansion of humankind into the cosmos. Earth must be protected, as there is a fundamental relationship between life on Earth & whatever lies beyond.
