SECURITY CAMERAS Having a Burglar Alarm is great but adding Security Cameras can allow you to remotely watch your property and provide video evidence to the authorities. There are no monthly fees just the install cost. All we need is access to an available ethernet port on your router to plug into for remote viewing. Then you can use a Smart-Phone or Tablet to watch the live and recorded video. Depending on the location we can also connect to your TV so you can watch the L...ive video on your TV. The Cameras are a wide-angle lens 2.8 mm and are all 5 Megapixel with up to 65’ IR night vision. They require an NVR which will record 24/7 to a hard drive that you have access to on your smart phone to watch the recorded videos. Standard hard drives will save up to 1 week of video footage. For most single-story homes, we can install 4 Cameras and a 4 Channel NVR for under $2500.00. Site walk required for the exact price. Two story homes can require more labor but can be done for under $2750.00 but will require a site evaluation. Additional Cameras and larger NVRs can be added as well. IMPORTANT YOUR ALARM SYSTEM MAY STOP COMMUNICATING WITH ASTRO SECURITY ON FEBRUARY 10TH 2018. PLEASE READ This relates to your home phone line as well, not just the alarm system. As of February 2018 if you are in the 916 area code you will need to start dialing 1 + area code + 7 digit number. Below is some information from the State of California. On February 09, 2017, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approved an overlay that will add the new area code 279 ...to the 916 area code region. Under the overlay plan, current 916 Area Code customers can keep their numbers, but as of February 10, 2018, all calls made from the 916 Area Code will have to be dialed using 1 + area code + 7-digit telephone number. This means that all calls in the 916 Area Code that are currently dialed with 7 digits will need to be dialed using 1 + area code + 7-digit telephone number. Beginning August 12, 2017, customers in the 916 Area Code may begin using the new 1 + 10 digit dialing procedure (1 + area code + telephone number) when placing calls. If customers forget to use the new dialing procedure and just dial the seven-digit telephone number, calls will still be completed until February 10, 2018. Beginning February 10, 2018, callers must use the new 1 + 10-digit dialing procedure for all calls. After this date, if customers do not use the new dialing procedure, their calls will not be completed and a recording will instruct them to hang up and dial again. We will need to come out and reprogram your alarm panel to call us using the new call procedure. We will not charge you for this but this is required due to the new area code. We will schedule these appointments at no cost to you M-F from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. IF we have enough requests we can schedule some on a Saturday too. Many of you have cellular communicators that use a 800 # and will not be affected by this BUT you will need test the alarm and send in a signal to us ASAP and again after February 10th to test your alarm system.

One of the most important things to your alarm system is the transformer. If this gets unplugged your battery will provide power for a short time then go dead. Your alarm will not work without power. Transformers look pretty much all the same. See picture. Some have a sticker on the front some dont. They are usually plugged into a electrical outlet in the closet, attic, garage and or behind the dryer. Its not uncommon from them to get warm or have discoloration on them from heat. Some are secured into the outlet with a screw. On some alarm keypads if the transformer is unplugged or there is no power at the outlet a trouble light will show up on the keypad screen.
