September is National Suicide Prevention Month. All month, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness. It’s a time to remember those affected by suicide, to raise awareness, and to focus efforts on directing treatment to those who need it most. It's a tough topic, but we need to talk about it.... Seniors make up 12% of the population but account for 16% of all suicide deaths. They also have higher rates of success. And those are stats from before COVID-19 when isolation became a part of everyday life.
