INTERN OPPORTUNITY for local youth: love the outdoors, want to pursue a career or discipline in the environmental field, or do you simply want to green your community? Apply to be one of our new Nursery Operations Interns at our youth-led nursery at Ascot Hills Park. This nature-based educational internship will teach you the ins-and-outs of local native plant conservation and restoration work and will involve tasks like seed collection, plant propagation, and planting...s in green spaces throughout Northeast LA. This internship is specifically geared towards local youth aged 16-22 in Northeast and East Los Angeles. PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT To all Park visitors. This evening 5/21/20 there was a report of a male accosting some of the female walkers just north of the benches. Please take safety precautions when walking especially when walking in remote areas of the park. We have reported this incident to our Hollenbeck Area Officer and hopefully will see some patrols as a result of this reporting. Thank you.
This morning residents from Friends of Ascot Park hung banners in different entrance locations reminding park visitors to please adhere to safe COVID19 precautions while enjoying the park. We thank everyone for your cooperation. Stay safe.
