Lent is a time of great grace, a time a spiritual renewal. It’s time to reflect on how much God loves Us and how much God desires our Love. It’s an opportunity for us to give up something or add something as a reminder that God is more than enough. When we give up something, replace it with something beautiful. Sometimes prayer is an act of will- that we make ourselves pray even when we don't want to. When we hesitate or struggle to pray, or feel unworthy, we may feel like the exiled Israelites, "But Zion said, 'The Lord has forsaken me, my Lord has forgotten me.'" But then God's response surprises us as Isaiah continues, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, or show no compassion for the child of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you" (Isaiah 49:14-15). - Pastor Rick Fry

WHY HAVE A MOURNING & HEALING SERVICE? Read what Pastor Rick had to say when planning the service: The idea for this service actually came to me as I was preparing to write a What's Up Wednesday article a month or two ago. I felt particularly scattered and busy that morning, trying to rush to write an article before the deadline. I was planning on writing about the grief and trauma the pandemic has wrought on all of us. ... Then, maybe in a God moment, I stopped and thought to myself, 'I haven't given myself any time to process the devastation of this pandemic, or the pain I'm feeling in the midst of all this.' Then I thought that other people are probably feeling the same way. Everyday we feel both exhausted and rushed. Life moves both slower and faster. It's disorienting, and we have no time or place to process the grief and loss we feel. So that's the purpose of our service tonight. It's time to pause and breathe, to mourn, grieve and begin to heal. Hope to see you tonight, and thanks so much for your support and love of our ministry.
