Posted @withrepost @los_angeles_boricuas We were told that this gathering was the best event @glendalecollege has EVER had on campus, and that can only be attributed to our families desire for connection with Puerto Rico. But we also owe it to the organizers of the gallery and event, David, the Curator of @artgallerygcc, & Professor & Artist @ricardo.rodrz for their year-long effort to build the collection and to intentionally wanting to build community by inviting @apontep...oro, @triplethreattrk (who's family is beautiful & hardworking), @sweedithbakes (quesitos were riquisimo), and us. Thank you to the staff that stayed late, friends who came on their own dime, and for @glendalecollege for supporting Puerto Rican artists and musicians, for the food and both the virgin & not so virgin pina coladas (right, @nyricaninla?). It was a perfect event and example of what we can accomplish together. Bomba truly does bring a community together, thank you @aponteporo @tallerkurubina @etienne_rivera and the others for keeping it alive. You have our sincerest respect & appreciation.
