Arroyo Pacific Academy

Dear Families and Community Members: At Arroyo Pacific Academy, our main concern is always for our students’ physical, mental, and emotional health and well being. Our plans for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year is to reopen with in-person classroom instruction under the protocols and guidelines set by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. However, because of the recent spikes in infection rate in certain California counties, including Los Angeles County, Gove...rnor Newsom issued an order on July 17th that all schools, both public and private, have to remain closed at this time. In order to resume in-person class instruction, a county must have been off the state's COVID-19 watch list for 14 days. If this order hasn’t been rescinded by the start of our school year, we will proceed with starting our classes using online instruction and distance learning until we can reopen. Please know that once the governor’s order has been rescinded and we can have students on campus again, we will promptly resume in-person classroom instruction with safety measures in place. Those safety measures will include required daily temperature checks, use of hand sanitizers, required hand washing, daily cleaning of high contact surfaces, required wearing of masks by anyone who is on campus, separation of desks in classes to maintain social distancing, in addition to other measures. As the summer progresses and we receive more information, including specifics around school schedules and the physical reopening of our school, we will share that information with our families. As the environment and information around COVID-19 continues to shift and change, we will adapt and respond as quickly as possible. In the meantime, please check our website for the most up-to-date information. We thank you for your patience during this challenging time. Please take care of one another by following the guidance of Public Health, social distancing, and wearing masks while in public. We would like to congratulate the Class of 2020. It has been a very memorable year. We had our graduation ceremony this past Thursday, May 28th. Because of the pandemic, our graduation was by appointment. We were happy for the chance to see and say "goodbye" to some of our students and their family members, who attended the ceremony. We wish you all the best! And a special thanks to Mrs. Millspaugh and Ms. Deagon for organizing the event.
