COVID - 19 / Coronavirus Update To Our Current Students & Families and To All Visitors: We are currently closed and we will be following the guidelines of the Arcadia School District as to the projected date for re- opening the school for regular classes. Currently, they are projecting a possible opening on TUESDAY, May 5. We believe this is due to the mandates from the County of Los Angeles. During our closure, please feel free to contact our school by phone at 626-294-0661 ...or by email at [email protected]. We will be checking our phone messages and emails during our closure. To Our Current Students & Families: The current closure will give us FIVE weeks of home learning during Spring Quarter II. Assignments for all classes in which your student is scheduled will be posted on the Jupiter system. This is also where you and the students can contact teachers in case of difficulty or need for instruction and clarity. You may also contact me at any time through Jupiter or regular e-mail at [email protected]. Having our seniors complete their course of studies for graduation and college acceptance is a major priority. If seniors are having difficulty with the online courses they can contact me and I will ensure that there is additional support for them. If necessary, we will extend their work into the summer period so they can complete high school successfully. Students in AP classes should make sure to read the information from the College Board that was sent to you by Ms. Buoen. Please contact Ms. Buoen or Ms. Deagon on Jupiter if you have questions about the AP exams. Younger students (Sophomores and Freshmen) should have specific study times at home to complete their assignments and get them to their teachers by whatever delivery methods is chosen email, Dropbox, Google docs, etc. Each teacher will let you know (via Jupiter) how he or she will want you to transmit your assignments. The teachers of our middle school students have adopted a specific online program called Classin where they can check in as a group and be seen by the teacher. This enables them to receive instruction but also maintain their social contacts with friends and teachers. The teachers will let you know the times when students must go online. Janice Yen is the coordinator for this program. Teachers will remind you of the textbooks you will need for this upcoming Quarter. You should already have these at home. PLEASE CONTACT MS. DEAGON IN ADVANCE by email via Jupiter if you need any specific items from school and they will be ready for pick up when you arrive. We care for each of you very much so please do not hesitate to contact us if we can give you the service you need. Online learning is not ideal for some students so we will make every effort to have you succeed and then pick up what is necessary after you return to school. We simply ask you to do your best and persevere. Sincerely, Philip Clarke Principal
