The Weekend in the Redwoods will take place form February 7-8 in Fortuna, CA. The host hotel will be the Best Western Country Inn in Fortuna. Room cost is $95 plus taxes per night. Friday starts with a reception hosted by Ferndale Parlor #93 at the hotel at 6 p.m.There will be BBQ meats and all kinds of appetizers. On Saturda...y, a dedication ceremony recognizing the Ferndale Memorial Parade as the longest running parade in Humboldt County will begin at 10 a.m. in the Ferndale Cemetery. Following the dedication, Humboldt Parlor #14, will host a free light lunch for all members and their families at their hall, located at 623 3rd Street in Old Town Eureka. Humboldt Parlor has coordinated with the Clark and Timber Heritage Museums for tours. Saturday night, Ferndale parlor will host an initiation and dinner. The initiation will be held in the Redwood Room at the Best Western at 4 p.m. Dinner will be at the Fortuna Fire Department, 320 South Fortuna Blvd. Cocktails and appetizers are at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Dinner is $25 per person and will be prime rib with all the trimmings.
