Tryouts for Farm, Minors and Majors players start this weekend! Please note, there will be no tryouts for T-ball, 50/70 or Juniors Divisions. We've received a few questions regarding the need to attend a mandatory Registration Night (1/8 or 1/15) even if the residency documents have been uploaded with the registration information. Yes, you are still required to attend as the information needs to be verified and any discrepancies will be addressed on one of either of the two nights. In addition, families are still required to drop off the medical release form and present birth certificates if you are new to the league. The 2019 Spring Season is fast approaching and it is that time to verify residency eligibility. The first of 2 nights will occur on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Mariemont Elementary School in the Multi-Purpose Room which is located at 1401 Corta Way, Sacramento CA 95864. The second night will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the same time and place. In order to verify residency eligibility the Little League requires a number of documents to be subm...itted. Those documents can be found here. In preparation, we thought we would provide you with a few quick notes: - If your player attends a school within the Arden LL boundaries, you can submit the School Enrollment Form. If you have completed the School Enrollment Form in prior years, there is no need to re-submit it as we have it on file. If you have changed schools since last season, you would be required to submit an updated School Enrollment Form. - An alternative to the School Enrollment Form would be to provide 3 forms of residency documents. Please note that you will be required to provide one form from each of the Three Groups. Little League is very strict about residency eligibility, so please make sure the forms you intend to submit come from each of the Three Groups. For a detailed list of the required documents in each group, please click here. - If you are new to Arden LL, you will be required to bring documents that provide Proof-of-Age. The link details a list of acceptable documents that can be submitted during the Residency Confirmation Night. - If you plan on managing or being an assistant coach, you will need to complete the Volunteer Form, a signed Coach's Code of Ethics, and provide a copy of your driver's license. A separate booth will be set up at Residency Confirmation Night if you have any questions about the manager/coach requirements. The last couple of years have been very smooth and a lot of that has to do with you and having all of your documents ready to go. Paradise Little League needs our help! We all know of the devastation from the Camp Fire, it is absolutely heartbreaking. We have an opportunity to provide some normalcy for the kids of Paradise...to provide those kids with a distraction from the reality of rebuilding their community. Arden Little League is asking for your help. Because Paradise Little League lost everything, we are asking people to donate any new or used baseball equipment or clothing - batting helmets, ...gloves, baseballs, belts, pants (no holes), cleats, bats (USA approved or tee-ball) catcher's gear, baseball bags, and anything else you can think of. Arden Little League will be collecting your donations tomorrow, Sunday, November 18th, from 1-3 pm at the snack bar at Valley Oak Park (1100 Eastern Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95864). Every league in District 5 will be participating in this collection, and the gear collected will be sent up to Paradise Little League next week. The league has a storage box in Chico where they will store and distribute the gear to their league. Dick's Sporting Goods, a sponsor of Little League, has stepped up and has also donated equipment to other leagues that have lost equipment due to the fires. As we move closer to the start of the season, I am sure there will be other opportunities to help Paradise Little League rebuild their facilities. Arden Little League will provide future updates. Don't miss out -- Fall Ball starts this Sunday!! If you have not yet registered, do not panic...there is still time. Simply go to the Arden Little League Fall Ball Registration page and follow the simple instructions. In addition, you will need to bring a completed Medical Release Form with you on your first day. Once again, we are pleased to have partnered with our neighborhood schools - Rio Americano HS, Jesuit HS, and Sacramento State. This is a program designed to supp...ort our young players, and it is great to see our neighborhood schools give back and want to be a part of something special in our community. Both teams are playing great and are close to winning the District 5 Championship. Both teams play on Monday, July 9th at 6:00 pm.
