Archery Club at UCI

Hello, archers! Archery, and specifically this club, holds a very special place in our hearts, so we’re ending the week with some team member testimonies Our current president, Erika Moe, has been a member of the Archery Club ever since her freshman year! Here is what she has to say about how the Archery Club has impacted her life at UCI: When I first came to the archery team, I just thought it would be a great way to spend my mornings when I was not at the gym. I ve...ry quickly found best friends, as well as a community that has supported me in literally everything through the past three years. The lessons I have learned on this team (for example, sushi is amazing, and you should absolutely NOT go from a 32-pound bow to a 48-pound bow just because you bought the limbs) have expanded my vision of what life can be and are a constant reminder that we can all learn from one another despite our differences. I would not trade the hours I spent out at the range on Saturdays and Sundays instead of (perhaps) doing my chores, or the bad decisions we made before tournaments (don’t worry, my version of a bad decision is choosing to watch 3 movies until 2 am when we must wake up at 5 to go and shoot 120 arrows) for anything. These experiences on and off the fieldwith the people I have met will last me a lifetime, as will the friendships themselves. Thank you to my team, for teaching me that I do not have to do it all by myself, and that challenging yourself despite the fear or dread it can cause is the absolute best way to grow. I look forward to possibly seeing you all in person at tournaments in the coming year, and picking right up where we left off, shooting together, and continuing to learn and grow together. Hello, archers! Yay, it’s Friday!! This morning our Public Relations Manager, Trinh, made Stir Fried Egg with Tomato! The olive oil really brought out the juicy sweetness of the Roma tomatoes, and the soft egg pairs amazingly with rice. A great breakfast to have, especially during the hustle-bustle of everyday life! This time we’re taking it back to last year’s Vegas Shoot We got to sport our new uniforms (thank you again, Erreà Sport ) while also shooting at our biggest competition of the season! Hey, archers! It’s almost the end of another busy week! We want to take this time to thank our coaches for the blood, sweat, and tears that go into supporting our team. Thank you for the long hours spent at practices and competitions--from sunrise to sunset--giving us pointers and a hand, whether it’s about archery or life in general.
