Earlier this week, our children created their own Worry Dolls as part of our Guatemalan week . The Guatemalan worry doll legend says to tell your doll your worries or problems, and place it under your pillow at night. While you are sleeping the doll is suppose to help take the worries away. . While this WORRY DOLL story is a legend and not necessarily true, it reminds us of the importance of mental health in young children. ... CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS! As they created their worry dolls, children had conversations about things that worry them. While conversations did include things like I’m worried my mommy won’t get me a kitty, older children shared more serious things that worry them, including the coronavirus.
