Riordan mourns the passing of Dr. Art Dugoni '43 who leaves an incredible legacy in dental education at the University of the Pacific, the school of dentistry in San Francisco that bears his name. Riordan wrote about his unique path, including the foundation he built while a student at St. James, in last year’s Future Magazine. https://resources.finalsite.net//DugoniFutureMagazine2019.

Welcome to the first day of the 2020 - 2021 school year--one we will never forget. Today marks not only the first day of distance learning, but it is also the beginning of a new Crusader era. Riordan now educates boys and girls. We welcomed 196 young women across all grade levels, and have the largest student body in thirty-five years. We know our newest community members will be inspired by the deep pride that our alumni and supporters around the world have in our outstanding school. Please join us in welcoming back our students and celebrating this historic day for Archbishop Riordan High School from wherever you are!

Riordan will begin the school year on Tuesday, September 8 with full distance learning. As much as we'd hoped to begin the 202021 term in person with a hybrid model, San Francisco is still on the watchlist. On Monday, our faculty and staff began two weeks of professional development, and at the end of this time all teachers will be certified in online instruction. Head to the Back to School page for more information: https://www.riordanhs.org/back-to-school

The statue of Mary the Immaculate Conception in the school's courtyard was refurbished last year, and this week, a plaque detailing its history was added to the... base. The refurbishing and plaque placement were made possible by V. Fontana & Co. and Reno Taini '59, whose father Gaspare Taini, a school gardener, saved the statue from falling in 1957 during an earthquake. Archbishop Riordan High School Alumni
