My husband Dave Garcia Artist/creator of Panda Khan in 1981 recently unearthed the 1989 blue "Test Shot" of the Panda ...Khan action figure from Playmates Toys. My dear friend Leah Dunsmore Underhill died Wednesday afternoon at Palomar Medical Center ICU in Poway from complications of appendicitis. Our wonderful friend, Leah's husband Rod, died 2 years ago of cancer. Please pray for their children who are alone now. Rod died as a result of his insurance company refusing to pay for his cancer treatment. While he was debilitated by cancer, Leah was in a wheelchair from a car accident that broke her legs and back about 8 years earlier ...and in chronic pain while caring for Rod and for her mother who was dying of leukemia. This is an unbearably difficult time for their children, one of whom is still a minor. Leah Underhill and Rod Underhill were forced to mortgage their house to make medical payments and due to their illnesses and serious injuries, Rod and Leah had to work less. Now the loan company wants the children out of the house even it means they are homeless. And the kids need help paying for their mother's cremation and hospital bills. I am trying to raise money for them. They have been our friends for 40 years. Attorney Rod did a lot of pro bono legal work over the decades for many comics creators who needed help with unfair contracts and copyright issues. See more
