Christmas 2020 is not the best. It's about to rain. the virus has everything shut down. Can't hang out in the park. No eggnog. What a drag!!! Soooooo, I thought I would reach back into those Facebook memories and find a better Christmas video!!!

Well San Francisco skaters, it looks like one of those fantastic Christmas weather weekends coming up in San Francisco!!! However we are at the most dangerous... time during this Covid 19 pandemic. We're back into Shelter in Place. Anyone that goes outside of San Francisco has to do 10 days of quarantine upon return. I know you want to skate, but now is the time when everyone should heed the warnings of the experts. I will not be setting up music in Golden Gate Park this weekend. If you don't live in San Francisco, you must stay home. If you do live in San Francisco, the park is closed to car traffic and you can go skating in the park. However if anyone sets up music and causes a crowd to form at 6th Ave. Skatin' Place, you could be fined. I understand this Shelter in Place order will be in effect until Jan. 4 2021. While some of you may complain about and just go do it anyway, remember those that are losing everything, watching their family members and friends die, can't pay rent, they look at you and cry. It's like a slap in the face. We are all in this together whether we like it or not. Please keep yourself safe. Continue to wear your masks. THE HEAT IS ON!!! They're asking for everyone to shut off electricity from 3PM to 10PM. That means Golden Gate Park Friday Night Skate!!! we're gonna have a funky good time!!!

WE'RE OPENING THE CHURCH OF 8 WHEELS!!! NO, WE'RE NOT OPENING, YES, NO, YES, NO!!! Once again we must postpone our reopening plans. Covid 19 is rising again a...nd if we don't do something about it, we'll NEVER reopen. Not just my roller rink, but EVERY rink, every nightclub, every business for that matter. I will not get you sick. No amount of money is worth that!!! When the Church of 8 Wheels is open, my entire family is taking a risk. I want to take this time to make sure when you enter the Church of 8 Wheels, it is safe, the air is safe, the skates are safe and everything you touch is safe. If people really take things seriously during the Thanksgiving holiday, we think we will be able to open by Friday, Nov. 27. PLEASE DO YOUR PART TO STOP COVID 19!!! WEAR A MASK!!! WASH YOUR HANDS!!! Well folks, Covid 19 has shutdown all the events where the Church of 8 Wheels goes mobile. There was one event that was still planning to happen in Las Vegas in... the fall. While many people give credit to the rise in outdoor roller skating to the Covid 19 lockdown, here in San Francisco we always knew this was coming. Covid 19 may have forced us to cancelled this event for 2020, but we're planning right now for Roller Revival July 2021!!!

Well skaters, The Church of 8 Wheels has always had a reputation of being a great hook up spot. It seems that love is always in the air. When we finally do reopen after Covid 19, the hook up scene at the roller rink will be in full stride!!!
