Important AUHSD Parent Survey: We are collecting information for our transition to a hybrid model of learning, with a combination of both in-person and distance learning, for the second semester in January. Since July, we have worked to update the District’s hybrid model. The proposed updated hybrid model will include two days of synchronous learning on the computer (Monday and Friday), one day of in-person instruction following a model with one-third of students (Tuesday, W...Continue reading

Congratulations to the following three teachers selected as District Teachers of the Year to represent the Anaheim Union High School District at the Orange County Teacher of the Year Award program, sponsored by the Orange County Department of Education: Yamila Castro (Western) Spanish Jennifer Gascon-Jewell (South) Science/AVID Lisa Shandy (Lexington) Physical Education... Around this time of year, OCDE would typically host a formal gala to spotlight dozens of Orange County’s top educators. There would be musical performances. There would be pre-recorded remarks from the honorees. There would be special video tributes. And it would all take place at the Disneyland Hotel, where Mickey and Minnie Mouse might make an appearance.Of course, we’re not likely to see these kinds of large-scale events for a while.A more traditional Orange County Teachers of the Year event is already in the planning stages to salute this year’s winners once life gets back to normal. In the meantime, OCDE’s Media Services team has produced a virtual tribute to the 2021 honorees, that includes our three AUHSD representatives. https://vimeo.com/475642399
11/9 AUHSD Parents Survey Announcement Dear AUHSD Families, On Monday, November 9, the Anaheim Union High School District will be emailing an important survey indicating whether your student will participate in a Hybrid Model or prefer to remain in Distance Learning. We need to hear from all families since your input is critical to plan appropriately for the remainder of the school year. ... Hybrid Model Option: The proposed updated hybrid model will include two days of synchronous learning on the computer (Monday and Friday), one day of in-person instruction following a model with one-third of students (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday), and two days of asynchronous, or independent, learning following the one-third model. Distance Learning Option: There are a few choices for families who choose to remain in distance learning (Note: these options may be modified depending on the responses for a specific model). Families may choose to remain at their home schools and keep their students home during the in-person days. These students will participate in synchronous learning with face-to-face instruction on the computer two days a week, and three days of asynchronous, independent learning. Applications will again be accepted to AUHSD Cambridge Virtual Academy (grades 7-12) for second semester, but space is limited. Current CVA students do not need to reapply. Transfer to Polaris Independent Study (grades 7-12) for second semester, as space allows. Transfer to Katella High School Independent Study Program (grades 9-12) for second semester, as space allows. Transfer to Kennedy High School Independent Study Program (grades 9-12) for second semester, as space allows. The survey will also be available on our AUHSD social media pages and District website on November 9. Please be on the lookout for the survey via email and social media/website posts on Monday. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.
