It’s ok to lose to an opponent. Just don’t lose to fear Mr MiyagiIt’s ok to lose to an opponent. Just don’t lose to fear Mr Miyagi
I’ve been in self defense, not martial arts, but self defense systems for 40 years. Back in the 80’s I developed a training program titled: The Aspect of 3. H...ere’s a portion of it, maybe it’s core foundation, of what it is, and how we use it It’s simple. Break everything down and into 3 aspects, categories, etc. Here we will do it as it pertains to you, to self defense. Ok. Here we go. People are bigger than you, your size, or smaller than you. People are stronger than you, as strong as you, not as strong as you. People are faster than you, as fast as you, not as fast as you. People are taller than you, as tall as you, not as tall as you. Etc. etc. etc. So. Knowing this and knowing this quickly when someone is trying to hurt you will give you an edge in how to proceed when defending yourself. Try this. When you are out and about look at people. You’ll quickly realize how people, compared to you, fall into each aspect. And. Play a game, figure out things. Are they stronger. Are they bigger. Smaller. What? And. How would you handle them or avoid them or escape from them given their body type compared to yours. And. Sometimes we’ll be the fastest or the strongest and sometimes we won’t. In Africa there are 5 wild cats. We can use the 3 largest to help us with this. The lion. The leopard. And. The cheetah. We know which is the strongest. We know which is the fastest. We know which one is the tweener. So. This is basic. Only a part of the whole picture when self defense is involved, but knowing this and knowing this quickly could save your life. Next time I can expand on this more or cover this aspect: preemptive, 0-3 seconds, sunk in. Coach Ken
You learn the technique. Then practice it on a cooperative partner, they are doing that here. Then on a non cooperative partner so you can tweak it and make it... yours. #anaheim #selfdefense #kravmaga
