AMR is honoring our caregivers this week as we celebrate a rescheduled EMS Week. There is no doubt that 2020 has been challenging, but our teams proudly responded and kept our communities safe. Thank you to our dedicated EMTs and Paramedics in Ventura County and around the country!

Did you know that animal shelters assist folks with food for their four legged friends by running a pet pantry? It’s great way to support the community and those in need. Oakley invites you to participate in our First Annual Holiday Animal Shelter Drive. We are working with the Ventura County Animal Shelter this year. Donations can be dropped off at either the Gold Coast office in Oxnard at 200 Bernoulli Cir. or the AMR office in Moorpark at 616 Fitch Ave. If you cant make ...it by the office to drop off your donation email is at [email protected] and we will come to you! The holidays are here and along with them, many of us are experiencing a little more stress courtesy 2020...We all need someone to listen sometimes- someone to connect with us and help us cope. The County of Ventura’s drive through COVID-19 testing site in Santa Paula, located at 128 S. Hallock Drive, will be closed on Friday, October 9, 2020. The site... will be relocated to the City of Santa Paula parking lot located at the corner of E. Main Street and N. Ojai Street in Santa Paula beginning October 16, 2020. The operating hours will be Friday through Tuesday from 10 am to 7 pm. The change of location and hours will allow easy access to testing for residents. Testing is an important component of slowing the spread of COVID-19. Testing and contact tracing help to contain disease. The County of Ventura offers free COVID-19 testing at multiple sites for County residents who have the slightest suspicion of having COVID-19 or have had close contact with a person who has tested positive. Testing is also for any resident who has been in a crowded space or for those who serve the public in the course of their work. A resident does not need to have health insurance to get tested. No appointment is necessary. Symptoms of COVID-19 can include: cough or shortness of breath, fever greater than 100.4 F, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. Close contact means: sharing a home, being closer than 6 feet for more than 10 minutes without wearing a mask, having contact with bodily fluids (spit, blood) of the sick person through coughing, sneezing or sharing utensils. Our thoughts are with the San Francisco Fire Department and the family of Firefighter Cortez.

The first Sunday of October is designated National Firefighters Memorial Day. All of us at AMR Ventura County would like to join our counterparts in the fire service to remember the brave women and men who have lost their lives while protecting their communities. We continue to keep our firefighters in our thoughts as they continue to battle the numerous fires still burning throughout the state.

Supporting the fighters, admiring the survivors, honoring the taken and never, ever giving up hope. For the month of October AMR employees in the Conejo Valley will be wearing pink gloves and pink masks and handing out pink pens to show our concern for breast cancer awareness.

Thank you Supervisor Bob Huber and family for taking the time to drop off lunch for our hardworking employees at the drive thru testing site at Moorpark College! If you are in need of free covid testing, swing by the college, wait times are minimal and results are super quick!
