We want to continue to update you on AWB's winddown process. Inventory: Starting May 8, California's will begin allowing some companies to open some activities. AWB will start processing current returns, and some vendors should begin seeing RTVs by the first week of June. We will continue to process returns daily provided there are no additional stay-at-home orders, and we will ship inventory back to vendors on a monthly basis. Accounts: We have had fruitful discussions with... all accounts with the intent of helping our retailers and vendors continue to benefit from relationships established by AWB. A summary is below: Whole Foods: After multiple conversations with Whole Foods, we are transferring the Whole Foods book program to Readerlink. The Whole Foods business is a critical business to our industry, and we worked with Whole Foods to keep the book program alive. Fortunately, Whole Foods agreed and starting October the program will shift to Readerlink. Further, Cristi Apple who has managed the Whole Foods account for AWB, will begin working with Readerlink to continue managing Whole Foods. Cristi will work with AWB through June and then will transfer to Readerlink. The industry should expect little disruption with Whole Foods as we make this important business transfer. Whole Foods has ensured that any unsold books will be returned to AWB by September 15th. Costco: Costco has communicated that there is still stock in stores from late 2019 as labor was allocated to "essential" items at Costco and the return process was protracted. Costco will begin returning all books shipped by AWB on June 1st and we've negotiated having final returns received by September 15, 2020. Sam's Club: Sam's has communicated the same as Costco and will begin returning items this July, and we have asked that all returns be received by AWB no later than September 1, 2020. REI: AWB will continue to ship REI through the summer and then they will shift their purchasing to another existing supplier. AWB does not have information on their choice of supplier. Nugget Market: We are currently working with Nugget to transfer that business to Readerlink also. We do not have an update to share with you at this time. Calendar Vendors: All calendar recommendations previously provided were provided to our retailers again this week, and the retailers will make the decision on programs, final quantities, and choice of vendor. AWB will have no additional information to provide our calendar vendors. Again, as stated in our April 24th letter to the industry, "AWB will continue to operate with reduced staff to process returns, provide vendor debit memos, return unsold stock, and finalize accounts as we work to close the business, anticipated to be November of 2020." We hope for a speedy recovery for our important industry.
